The Butterfly Song

Hello everyone,

Here is a little bit of the "Butterfly Song." The audio is not the greatest but I am sure you will still be able to enjoy it.

Yesterday, during church service, we saw the kids sing and dance to an array of songs. We were so amazed at how well they did. Another thing became apparent as we watch children from all five different orphan homes on stage -- these children are in love with Jesus. It is obvious that their directors are doing a great job teaching them the treasures and riches of God's Word. The children are even taught to give back to the Lord. When asked, Vannak, our director, said that each Sunday he gives the children some money and encourages them to give a portion back to the Lord. It is not required but he so strongly desires for all the children to be generous.

Jill was talking to our bus driver. She overheard him saying on the phone that he had "good clients" (meaning us). We figured it must be related to the fact that we are always trying to include him in our activities, especially when we eat, which he refuses, except one time yesterday and he reluctantly came and sat with us when we had some refreshing juice drinks in the middle of a hot Sunday afternoon ("sand ice," I order passion fruit, of course, and it was delicious in spite of the brain freeze...). Our driver sits in the back during the program sometimes or just stands at a distance. But it has not escaped him how happy the children seem to be. He said he was happy that the children are well cared for. Jill told him that we love Jesus and want to share his love with others. This man has a daughter who has lived in New York City for several years and he speaks enough English for us to communicate basic things. We've enjoyed having him as part of our trip.

Well, it's 5:20 now and I have to pack and settle things with the hotel before our team meeting at 7:30. I appreciate your prayers for our return trip to Phnom Penh.

Missing all of you!

We are praying for you! Thanks for all the pictures you took the time to post. How thrilled we were when we saw "our little boy" holding the gift we sent him. May God continue to be glorified through your travels. Pat H.

What beautiful little butterflies.

.....the butterfly effect, which theorizes that a change in something seemingly innocuous, such as a flap of a butterfly's wings, may have unexpected larger consequences in the future,......

I love the fact that God is using you all in the lives of these precious children. We may not fully know until we get to heaven the difference the flap of their little wings will make.

Thanks for sharing with us all. Keep those stories coming - they make my day!
