Caring for orphans half a world away

Harley's sponsor Ruth & Mathurin
Things are going great here in Bangui, it is hard to believe tomorrow is our last day.  We have been busy helping ICDI with everything from mechanical work, water testing, organizing tool storage, farming, clearing land, orphan visits, and much more.

One of the main goals for this trip for me was to provide Nathan the opportunity to see first hand the work of ICDI and spend time with Jim Hocking hearing his perspective on ministry.  Jim has shared the many rewarding parts of ministry as well as the reality and daily problems associated with trying to help a entire country change for the better.  There have been many great discussions around the table about how best to solve the endless problems ICDI faces here in CAR.   It is great to know that our church is partnering with ICDI and stands with them in its efforts.

I have attached pictures, one with the children my family sponsors through ICDI orphan care ministry; there names are Ruth and Mathurin.  Ruth wants to be a nurse and Mathurin wants to be a teacher.

Another picture is of our visit to an orphan care group meeting where they have Bible study, health checks, and food.

We leave early Thursday morning and we have a layover on our way back so we have made plans to meet Rob and Nicole for dinner.  Thanks for your prayers! See you Sunday.

Tim
