Hello from Bangui

Hello from balmy Bangui.  We arrived this morning around 5:45 am local time.
Praise the Lord, all the luggage arrived with us!!  Thanks to everyone who prayed for our travel as well as our luggage.  It is always a great feeling to see your last piece coming down the belt. We met up with 3 men from Hanover Pa. in Paris who are traveling with us.  There company built the new drill rig for ICDI and they have come to see it in action here in the CAR.
After arriving in Bangui, we were met by Jim Hocking who helped us navigate the airport check out process which can be intimidating.  We then headed to the ICDI guest house for breakfast and a briefing on our next two weeks activities.  After breakfast we headed out to the orphan care center to begin our work on a pressurized water system as well as a filtration system to remove the iron from the water.  We worked on this project all morning.
After lunch we returned to continue our work.  It was a very hot day with the temps over 100 degrees.  We got a lot accomplished but unfortunately, some of the equipment was damaged during the long trip from Ohio, so this prevented us from completing this project.  I had to order some repair parts from Ohio which hopefully will arrive next tuesday with an ICDI staff member.  We know this is God's project and He is providing what we need.  We also enjoyed interacting with the many beautiful children who were at the orphan care center.  We all took turns playing ball with them as well as getting them to laugh by taking their pictures and then showing them their images.
We are all very tired tonight, we are looking forward to a shower and the opportunity to sleep in a bed.  I also had the opportunity to do a Skype interivew with the Wooster Christian School for their chapel.  Jim Hocking and I shared with the kids and Jim shared about his passion to help the Africans with their physical needs as well as the opportunity to share the gospel with them as well.
Well, I will try to update you as much as I can.  We will be in Bangui for a couple days then we will head out east of Bangui where we will be staying in a village for a couple days so we can help drill a couple new water wells.
Then we will return to Bangui for a day then we will head up to Berberti for work at the garage.  Please pray for our safety while we travel as well for out health while we try to deal with the extreme heat.  Thanks for the support of so many for this trip.  It is a privelege to be here representing our church.

In His Service
